Hello
Thank you for visiting my page. I built it as a showcase of my experience in the field of cyber security. I spent a career in corporate communications, but am now looking at a new direction. I have combined my deep experience of communications, goal prioritisation, and stakeholder management, with new skills in cyber security, both technical and strategic. I now have a strong complement of credentials for this new career path.
Why Me, Why Now?
I spent more than 20 years in corporate communications. This involved understanding the challenges of customers, partners and employees, and devising communications campaigns around them.
But now I'm looking for a new journey. One that actually solves real-life problems. Cyber threats create problems. I want to help be the solution.
I have dedicated most of this year to learning a range of skills in cyber security and have CompTIA Sec+ certification. I am confident in vulnerability and risk management, incident handling and threat detection. I have skills in Linux, Python and SQL. I have experience using Splunk, Wireshark, CrowdStrike, tcpdump and more.
More than technical abilities, I bring an experience of understanding the priorities of a business, the ability to communicate - and collaborate - with any departments across an organisation. I also have a strong background in coaching that helps me work effectively with a wide range of people. These soft and transferrable skills are an important part of cyber security as it continues to become a critical business issue.
